Night Detours at South Kings Avenue at Bloomingdale Avenue Aug. 10-22
Beginning Aug. 10, 2025, the northbound lanes of South Kings Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. north of Bloomingdale Avenue for underground utility location work. This work will last approximately one week, depending on weather and how quickly crews confirm utility locations, then work will shift to the south side of Bloomingdale Avenue.
While work is on the north side of Bloomingdale Avenue, motorists traveling north on South Kings Avenue will be detoured at Bloomingdale Avenue to John Moore Road and Providence Road. While work is on the south side of Bloomingdale Avenue, motorists traveling north on South Kings Avenue will be detoured at Greenbriar Drive to Sherry Drive to Bloomingdale Avenue. Southbound traffic on South Kings Avenue will be unaffected. Please follow all posted detours and use caution when driving, biking or walking in the area.

Tampa Bay Water’s crews are excavating in the area to locate underground utilities before beginning construction of the South Hillsborough Pipeline in October. This work is being done at night to minimize traffic impacts.
