Night Work: Median Removal on S. Kings Begins March 8

Starting Sunday, March 8, 2026, crews will be working nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to remove the medians on South Kings Avenue from Buckhorn Creek Road to Princeton Street. The inside northbound and southbound lanes of South Kings Avenue will be closed nightly but will reopen by 6 a.m. each day. Existing median crossovers will remain open until pipeline construction begins later this spring.

This work is being done at night to minimize traffic impacts and is expected to last approximately one week. Nearby residents may hear construction activity and back-up alarms during this work. Portable lights will be used to illuminate the work area but will be directed away from homes.

Motorists should use caution and follow all posted lane diversion signs when driving or biking. All crosswalks in this area will remain open.

Tampa Bay Water’s contractor crews are performing this work as part of the South Hillsborough Pipeline construction. For more information on the pipeline, visit SouthHillsboroughPipeline.com.
