New Traffic Pattern March 23 on S. Kings North of Bloomingdale

On Monday, March 23, 2026, at 6 a.m., a new traffic pattern will be in place for South Kings Avenue north of Bloomingdale Avenue for open-trench pipeline installation:

  • South Kings Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Bloomingdale Avenue and Denham Road.
  • The single northbound lane of South Kings will be redirected to the west side of the road just south of Bloomingdale.
  • Motorists exiting Denham Road onto South Kings may turn right (south) only.
  • Residents living along the east side of South Kings Avenue may exit driveways heading north only; use Dali Drive to access Bloomingdale.
  • A 35-mile-per-hour speed limit will be in effect.
  • Paul Sanders Park is accessible from Bloomingdale Avenue.

Motorists should expect delays. Please use caution when driving, biking or walking in the area. Through-traffic may want to use John Moore and Providence roads as alternative routes for north-south travel.

Tampa Bay Water’s contractor crews are performing this work as part of the South Hillsborough Pipeline construction. The contractor will perform exploratory excavations in the area, then install shallow wells that will be pumped continuously to remove shallow groundwater from the areas to be excavated. These dewatering systems must run 24 hours a day until construction in an area is complete. These systems include noise-minimizing diesel pumps and a small-diameter, temporary pipeline to direct water away from the construction area so trenches can be safely built, and proper soil compaction can be achieved.

Open trench construction will begin after the area has been dewatered. For more information on the pipeline, visit SouthHillsboroughPipeline.com.
