Ronele Drive Closed Sunday Night at S. Kings Ave.

Ronele Drive will be closed at South Kings Avenue beginning Sunday at 9 p.m. for South Hillsborough Pipeline installation. This work marks the beginning of construction on Ronele Drive; once the intersection work is complete, crews will continue eastward on Ronele Drive. 

  • Residents and visitors should use John Moore Road to access Ronele Drive. 
  • Those visiting the Rivard-Simmons Event Center can use John Moore Road or northbound South Kings Avenue. 
  • Traffic on South Kings Avenue will be reduced to one lane in both directions from approximately the JC Handly Sports Complex to Dali Drive.  
  • The sidewalk on the east side of South Kings Avenue will only be open in the mornings and afternoons to accommodate student travel between Dali Drive and Ronele Drive. Heavy construction activities will be paused during these times to ensure student safety. 
  • To cross Ronele Drive, pedestrians should use the temporary sidewalk to bypass the construction area.

Use Western Access Route to Brandon High School

South Hillsborough Pipeline construction is currently east of Brandon High School, and Victoria Street is closed to through traffic. Students, faculty and visitors should access the school from the west using: 

  • Limona Road  
  • Meade Street  

Students who walk or ride bicycles from east of the school should use the existing sidewalk on the south side of Victoria Street between Brandon High School and North Kings Avenue. Fence panels will be installed between the existing sidewalk and the work area to provide safe passage.  

Please note, the area is still considered an active construction zone from Limona Road to North Parsons Avenue, so please allow extra drive time and use caution when walking, biking or driving in the area. To learn more about the project, go to SouthHillsboroughPipeline.com.
