South Hillsborough Pipeline – Public Meetings

Thank you to everyone that attended one of the South Hillsborough Pipeline Community Meeting on Road and Lane Closures Lasting More than 30 Days. Here is all the information that was shared at these meetings.

Board 2 - Tampa Bay Water supplies wholesale drinking water to Hillsborough County, Pasco County, Pinellas County, and the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa. Those governments then supply water to their customers.

The first detour on Limona Road will cause a road closure from May 1, 2028 to July 7, 2028 and the second detour on Limona Road will cause a road closure from July 15, 2028 through August 26, 2028. The Victoria Street detour will close that road from May 29, 2026 through November 5, 2026, and the road closure and detour in front of Brandon High School will last from May 29, 2026 through September 3, 2026. Closure dates and durations are tentative and subject to change.

Board 19 - This graphic shows the different types of pipe installation that will be used for this project. The open cut trench method involves excavating down and installing the pipe. Trenchless installation involves a tunnel being dug underground between two points - used mainly to install pipe under waterways, railroad tracks and major road crossings.
