Tampa Bay Water is Hosting Open Houses on Road and Lane Closures Exceeding 30 Days

Board 7 - The graphic shows the planned road closures for the Woodberry Road tunnel. It will last from December 1, 2025 through March 9, 2026. It also shows the Limona Road tunnel at CSX that will result in a road closure from January 23, 2026 through April 11, 2026. The first detour on Limona Road will cause a road closure from May 1, 2028 to July 7, 2028 and the second detour on Limona Road will cause a road closure from July 15, 2028 through August 26, 2028. The Victoria Street detour will close that road from May 29, 2026 through November 5, 2026, and the road closure and detour in front of Brandon High School will last from May 29, 2026 through September 3, 2026. Closure dates and durations are tentative and subject to change.

Tampa Bay Water is holding open house meetings for residents to learn about road and lane closures that exceed 30 days in duration for the South Hillsborough Pipeline construction.

These road and lane closures will occur intermittently over the next 3 years and are necessary to build a new 26-mile pipeline by the end of 2028 to meet the County’s fast-growing drinking water needs. The approved route was selected at the request of Hillsborough County to improve water quality, pressure and service in its western service area. Pipeline construction is slated to begin in October 2025 and continue through the end of 2028.

Meetings will be held by section (see map below to find your section). Residents may drop in anytime between 6-7:30 p.m.

  • Sections 2 & 3: Tuesday, July 15, 2025 – Bloomingdale Regional Library, Room 219; 1906 Bloomingdale Ave.; Valrico 33596.
  • Sections 4 & 5: Wednesday, July 16, 2025 – St. Stephen Catholic Church, Family Life Center; 10118 St. Stephen Circle; Riverview 33569.
