The selected route is currently estimated to cost $523.9 million. Segment A, which is being funded by Tampa Bay Water, costs approximately $385.6 million. Segment B, which is being funded by Hillsborough County, costs approximately $138.3 million.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District has committed nearly $148 million in co-funding for this project, and the state has provided an additional $2.9 million in grant funding.
